Andrés Silva Carrasco was born in Santiago, Chile, South America. He began to play guitar at age 17.  Andrés mainly performs with the acoustic nylon string guitar, but also plays electric. He has developed into a very versatile guitarist/musician/entertainer.  He has experimented with various styles of music including, Latin, Jazz, Fusion, Rock, Blues, R&B, Country, Alternative, finger-style and World music.  He has performed locally and abroad in various venues with various world class artists and musicians.

Andrés most recent project besides his solo work is developing a guitar duo called “Guitar Romantica” www.guitarromantica.com with Kent Lindsay of Ohio, an exceptional, highly talented jazz/fusion/acoustic guitarist.  They met in May of 2002 and immediately clicked acoustically.  They recently released their Debut CD, “Beyond Borders” They have been performing around town incorporating music from all over the world.  They are now busy working on their second CD, filled with all original music.

Andrés has also recorded and performed with world classical guitarist, Rodrigo Rodriguez of Ecuador and Elon Sarafian, 1998 best new Artist from Armenia.  Recently, Andrés has been working on a recording project with Jonny Fair, a young and talented crooner vocalist from Missouri, who writes and sings swinging jazz with a full horn section.  Andrés has performed and recorded a live CD with Rick Muchow titled “All About Love”.  Rick is the director of music for Saddleback Community Church, one of the biggest music ministries in the world.  Andrés performed in the Hour of Power show as an invited guest giving him a taste of TV.  He has also helped to warm up the stage for rock group Ambrosia and Salsa master Poncho Sanchez.  Andrés has performed for Ricardo Montalban, vocal legend Vickie Carr, and performed a guitar duo concert with the Pacific Symphony Orchestra.  Concerts in South America in recent years have brought him additional TV show, televised concerts, radio interviews and other media experience.  Andres is also a board member and an active participant for the Association of Finger-style Guitarists, www.afg.org. This organization promotes some of the finest finger-style guitarists of the world, providing seminars, yearly conventions, education, and the preservation of this intricate art form.

His love of playing and big hearted support for other artists, local musicians, and young students is a continual labor of love for Andrés.  When you see a big smile on stage and hear soulful guitar playing filled with JOY – that’s Andrés.
